“ In 2022, I spent a month alone in a cabin. At the time, I felt the urge to reconnect with the kind of youthful love I had when I first started playing music. As we grow older, that passion can easily become masked by other aspects of life - career, success, money.

I wanted to go on a retreat.

Initially, I planned to spend a month at a monastery in Thailand. However, two weeks before the trip, I had the idea to create a similar kind of retreat on my own, one that would also allow me to write and record music. So I rented a small, handmade mud cabin through Airbnb, built by a kind couple in a town called Amirim.

I set up a simple remote studio and brought enough supplies to last the month. During that time, I immersed myself in Dharma texts, read poetry, meditated, walked in nature, did nothing, and wrote this collection of songs, which I later called Songs from Self Retreat (I wonder why...).

These songs reflect that month, what I was going through, the questions I sat with, and what I was seeking on a spiritual level.

This album is my way of bridging music with Buddhist philosophy. "
